Charlie is responsible for overseeing all transactional, capital markets and legal activities of Barber Partners. Such activities include the structuring and negotiation of project investments and debt and equity capital transactions, as well as risk management and legal oversight. Charlie is a member of the company’s Board of Directors and Investment Committee.

With over 20 years of industry experience, Charlie has vast expertise in the business and legal aspects of commercial real estate transactions, from acquisition, development, and operation of projects to various forms of financing, joint ventures, and institutional and high net worth investor capital raising.

Prior to joining Barber Partners, Charlie served as Executive Vice President & General Counsel of Encore Enterprises, Inc. While at Encore, Charlie served on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee and supervised over $2 billion of real estate investments for the firm, including multi-family, hospitality, office, retail and single-family housing developments.

Previously, Charlie was an associate at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP and a partner at Balch & Bingham LLP, where he represented commercial real estate developers, public/private REITS, private equity firms and institutional lenders with respect to the acquisition, financing, development, operation, leasing and disposition of commercial real estate projects.

Charlie and his wife are proud parents of two children. Charlie is an avid golfer and roots for the ‘Bama Crimson Tide. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Jonathan’s Place, a non-profit serving at-risk children and young adults.
